Body

In this 2016 edition, ORR updates its guidance to highlight the importance of organisations having arrangements in place to ensure their staff have the non-technical skills necessary for safe, effective operations.

The guidance is aimed at those responsible for managing and assuring the competence of individuals and teams in the rail industry, such as infrastructure operators, maintainers and constructors and train or tram operating companies.

ORR’s guidance describes the principles and factors that should be considered to improve existing competence management systems, and set up and implement new systems.

The updated guidance is available to read at: https://orr.gov.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0016/4264/developing-and-maintaining-staff-competence-rsp1.pdf
