Contingency arrangements for a delay to the statutory implementation of PR18

A delay to implementation might arise if, for example, Network Rail decided to object to our PR18 review notices (to be issued on 20 December 2018). This might lead to us referring our final determination to the Competition & Markets Authority (CMA). As track access charges for CP5 will expire on 31 March 2019, a delay to implementation would mean that Network Rail would quickly run out of funding

ORR reviews rail compensation claims companies

The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) has today launched a market review into the role played by Delay Repay claims companies in helping passengers claim compensation when journeys are delayed, and, in helping train operators deal with claims more efficiently.

The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) has today set out its final determination on Network Rail's £35bn plans (£31bn in England and Wales and £4bn in Scotland) to make Britain's railway more reliable and focused on passengers' needs. The plans cover the five years from 1 April 2019, known as Control Period 6 (CP6).
