Monitoring National Highways

Each year we assess National Highways’ performance against a range of government set targets that it should deliver over the second road period (RP2, which runs from 1 April 2020 – 31 March 2025).

The benefits to road users from the second road investment strategy (RIS2, running from 2020 – 2025) for England’s strategic road network risk not being delivered in full, regulator the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) warned today.

An estimated 187,000 people in England live in noise important areas with respect to road noise, with millions more affected.
