ORR appoints new director of communications

Russell will join ORR in November as part of ORR's senior leadership team and lead on ORR's internal and external communications.

Russell has been Group Director of Communications for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) for the last few years. He has previously held senior communications roles at HM Revenue and Customs, the BBC, and Royal Mail as well as private sector roles. Russell also led on the public engagement programme for London Underground's Jubilee Line extension project.

Richard Price, ORR's chief executive, said: 

I am delighted that Russell will be joining my senior team here at ORR. I welcome the experience and expertise that he will bring and, in particular, the communications support he will provide to ORR's Board.

Russell Grossman said: 

I am very pleased to be joining ORR, and returning to the industry, at a challenging but nevertheless exciting time. Rail and road transport affects so many people, every day, and I look forward to now making an appropriate contribution to that landscape.
