Network Rail access

Body
Components

If a railway operator wants to access Network Rail’s infrastructure, they have to apply to us for a track access agreement with Network Rail.

We regularly publish information on current applications for Network Rail access and our decisions

In May 2024 we received a higher-than-usual number of applications for the December 2024, June 2025 and December 2025 timetable changes at a number of network locations. Our dedicated competing applications section includes documentation and correspondence from freight and passenger operators.
